Hey there. Matt Maxwell here, writer and co-creator of STRANGEWAYS.
MURDER MOON is the first volume in a so-far three-volume series of graphic novels. It tells the story of ex-Union soldier Seth Collins as he crosses the haunted frontier states in the year 1868. Short pitch? Cowboys and werewolves. Collins finds himself in the town of Silver Branch and learns that it’s not just a shadowy wolf that’s terrifying the townsfolk.
The second book in the series, THE THIRSTY, follows directly on the events of MURDER MOON. As you might’ve guessed by the title, it’s cowboys versus vampires. Two towns, Drytown and Cedar Creek, but a dark fate befalls one, leaving it to look at its sister town with greedy eyes that light up when the sun sets.
There is a third volume planned in the series, entitled THE LAND WILL KNOW, which is an anthology title. Short pitch? Cowboys versus EC scare stories versus the wrath of an uncaring God. I’d love to say that it’ll be out this year, but I only have so much control over things.
If you want to read either of the first two books, they’re available in their entirety at the web store for Highway 62, over at Bigcartel. I’ll even sign ’em for you.
